In the beginning, NIS did not provide any adult soccer opportunites.
The focus was on providing soccer opportunities for children. We quickly found that part of helping children experience,
learn and to appreciate soccer was to help educate the parents to the fun and complexity of soccer. What better way
to educate the parents about soccer than to have them play soccer? We started with one league - the Old Fart League
- with great apprehension. Would anyone join? In our first year we fielded 4 teams with rosters of 20 or more
men and women. Some were experienced, most were not. The parents had a great time and we have
now added a forty and Over league for our older players.
The forty and over league is refered to as the "Old Fart League", the other
league is refered to as the "Open Adult League". All of our adult leagues are open to any adult - you do not have
to have a child enrolled in an NIS program. Sign-up with a friend, a neighbor or a co-worker!
One of the questions we hear every year is why isn't there a 30 to 39 league or a 50 and over league? The answer is always
the same - if we have enough teams we would love to have more leagues to progress through as we get older.
The difficulty of creating the additional leagues or division so far has been that many teams have players that would
cross over two divisions which means they would either as a team have to play in the league that their youngest player qualifies
for or the younger players would have to find a new new team in the younger division. While we can help players find or build
new teams they often would prefer to stay together.
The other problem is where we can form a seperate team at one age group but we do not have enough teams left to create
the other division.
Eventually we will have enough teams to create new divisions as more an more adults play soccer. Until then you can help
by getting teams into the league that you want to play. This will help keep the games competitive and if it brings in more
teams m akes it more likely we can create a new division.

Team Registration
Creating a team does not mean that you have to find all of your players. We will work with you to find players looking for
a team. In some cases, we combine two teams that are short players to create one fully rostered team.
When creating a team you need to contact the adult coordinator to let him/her know of your interest and the status of
your team (you need players or don't want additional players). You need to complete and turn-in the roster form for you team
that lists the players on your team. You do not have to have all of your players individual registration forms when you turn
in the team roster and you can add players at a later date. We will not; however, put player on your team just becuase they
turn in a registration form listing your team. We will contact the team coordinator to see if the player is to be added to
your team.
By turning in your team roster you are committed to forming a team even if you do not yet have a full roster or all of
the registration forms. We would strongly recommend that the team coach collect the individual registration forms and money
to turn them into the league rather than have them come directly to the league. You know who on your team is registered and
we know the the registration forms that you give us are supposed to be on the team. Every year we have two teams who list
some of the same players on their team. You avoid that problem by collecting the registration form yourself.
We need the team registrations by the team registration date so that we can determine how many teams we have, determine
whether we will create additional divisions and to begin scheduling. Every year we have teams submitted to us after the deadline
and we are not able to fit them in. Remember, you don't have to have allof your individual registration forms and
money to register your team.
A coed, fun adult soccer league with 6 to 12 teams. If there are enough
teams we will divide leagues into two divisions. We need at least 4 teams to create a division or league. We can divide
them by age or by competitiveness.
No experience is needed - we have great players and we have "human cones"
in this league.
Ages are 20 and over. An older player can play in this league, a younger
player cannot play in the Old Fart League.
We feature large rosters so that there are plenty of sub's.
You can form your own teams or we can place you on a team.
Indoor games are on Monday, Tuesday evenings and possibly Wednesday evenings
depending on how many teams sign-up.
There is a playoff at the end of the season.
Experience the fun of the game - learn how good your son and daughter really
is.
The Adult Full-Sided League is great excercise.
The Adult Full-sided League is a great way to meet soccer parents
of children of all ages - a great way to find out about soccer oppotions for your children, a great way to learn from other
parents successes and frustrations.
