House League Overview

The NIS House Leagues are game-based leagues.  The coaches are moms and dads who have volunteered.  They may or may not have a great soccer knowledge.  Their main job is to make sure that everyone plays.

No matter what your soccer experience and skill level you can play in the NIS House Leagues.  We have had All-State players playing on the same team as a beginning player!  These leagues are designed to be low stress, fun leagues.  The games are fast paced, high scoring games.  You don't have to worry about the weather becuase all of the games are indoor!  For parents, the games are great to watch becuase they are high scoring and you get to watch them play from a balcony which gives you a fantastic view of the game!

Player Requests – 10U – 14U Leagues
At the 10U through 14U league we place players on teams. We strive to avoid having a team or teams dominate their league. Since we do not know the abilities of the players we can only try to balance these leagues by making sure that each team has approximately the same number of boys and girls and of players at each age.

We do allow each player to make one request to play with a specific player (a space is provided on the registration form). While we try to meet all requests, we will only do so if we can maintain the proper ratios on each team.

Requests are honored in the order received (we often receive more than one request to play with the same player) and only if timely received (look on the Calendar Page for when registration forms received are considered due).

It is extremely difficult to honor requests to play for a specific coach. While we are happy when players like to play for a coach, we cannot allow teams to remain intact from year-to-year. Once you reach the U16 level you are allowed to put your own team together but before then we try to keep the leagues balanced.

Parents of players from school teams and outdoor soccer teams often request that their team be allowed to enter as a team. For the reasons stated above, that is not possible. While it is fun to play with friends and players that we are familiar with, it is also fun to play with new players, make new friends and play against existing friends and team-mates for bragging rights. Even when you can show that the existing team or group of friends can meet the league ratio, it is still not possible because we cannot risk that the team you put together dominates the league. How as a parent would you react if you found out that the team that just killed your team was put togther by the team and not the league? We simply cannot take that risk - we may have an imbalanced league but we will be able to show you that we did our best to keep them balanced with the information we have.

U10, U12 & U14 Leagues

  • Six games
  • co-ed
  • Custom designed t-shirt
  • Single-elimination playoffs
  • Play-off champions recieve Championship T-Shirts
  • NIS assigns players to teams although you can request to play with a friend.
  • Players are assigned to teams in an attempt to keep a balance of age and boys and girls between the teams.
  • NIS reserves the right to move players from one team to another if as the result of a player request a league becomes extremely unbalanced.
  • All of the players should recieve approximately equal playing time throughout the season although that my not occur in each individual game.

U16 & U19 Leagues

  • Six games
  • Custom designed t-shirts
  • Single-elimination play-offs
  • Players on winning team each recieve a Championship T-Shirt
  • Coed
  • You can form your own team or put in an individual registration and be placed on a team
  • If you form your own team you must have an adult coach and must register as a team
  • If you put in an individual registration we will try to find a team that needs a player or will attempt to form a new team but we cannot guarantee a spot for you.
  • The 19 League traditionally is our most popular league and if there are enought teams they will be divided into an upper and lower division for the playoffs.

If you want to register a team you must fillout and turn in a Team Registration Form and Indivual Registration Forms for each of your players. It is recommended that you collect the Individual Registration Forms and turn them in with your Team Registration. Many times we have more than one team that lists the same player on their roster!

You must get your team application in by the team deadline to enter a team. You can add players after this date but if we don't know you are putting a team in we will not be able to add you at a later time because the leagues have been created and scheduled.
