Please show up at least 15 minutes before the first game so that we can make sure that all of your registrations
are in and can go over the new rules. Please
check the new rules before the season starts. We will be posting them on the Rules Page. Basically, we are going
to more of a hockey officiating system. If you trip someone you will get a two minute penalty regardless of your intentions.
There is now a five minute major penalty that can be imposed. The team will be penalized 2 minutes but the player must
sit out 5 minutes. Two 5 minute penalties against a player in the same game will result in an ejection. Please
read the rules so that you see all of the changes. The goal is to make the calls less subjective, to penalize teams
who consistently foul (they will play short a lot) and to give the referees the ability to sit a player down for 5 minutes
to cool down instead of having to jump up to a game ejection. Please remember that these are "fun" leagues - this is not life and death. Everyone needs to be able to get up in the morning to go to work, nobody wants to get hurt. As a result, we do not call the game like a World Cup game. This is the equivalent to a "no check" hockey league. It is not about strength, it's about moving the ball. We will protect players around the boards. We will protect the goalies. We will not allow players to run over players. Each team must have a coach/team leader who emails to your league coordinator the scores and result of your games. We will then post the standings. If you want to keep track of goals and assists for your team, e-mail them along with the score and we will post them to your team and league stat's.
Have a great season!
In 2009 the Open Adult had 10 teams playing on Tuesday (3 games) and Monday (2 games) evenings. The
following team information is from the 2009 season and will be updated when the 2010 teams registered.
